It’s a boy!….well, we are pretty sure it’s a boy! On Friday, I had my 16 week appointment, and let’s just say its good to know people who know people. A friend called in a favor to her Dr. friend, and she took an extra close look at my routine ultrasound. While not 100% certain, and we will find out for sure at my 20 week ultrasound, Baby L is a boy! I am just assuming he is 100% a boy because if you see something I feel like that is more telling than seeing the lack of little boy parts.
I am relieved that Baby L continues to be healthy, and that I continue to remain healthy. I am only slightly disappointed, and what I am about to say will make no sense, but it makes sense to me. I am not disappointed that Baby L is a boy, but I am disappointed that I will never know what it is like to have a little girl. That being said, I am pretty sure I am made to be a boy mom. I barely like being a girl and the thought of teenage years with a girl scared the crap out of me.
Jason was out-of-town this weekend so when he got back this evening, we told the boys. The boys quickly pointed out how outnumbered I am (and will continue to be). There is Jason, three little boys and two boy dogs living in our home…that’s a lot of boys. I am excited to finally start buying baby clothing (recall, I have nothing…I purged it all a few years ago) and finish designing the baby’s room.
As far as this week, we spent it getting back into our normal routine. I finally started to feel pregnant this week during my workouts. They just feel so much harder…and I am pretty sure it is the extra weight I am carrying in annoying places (my chest….seriously though……and obviously my expanding belly). No matter how difficult, I will continue to push forward because I want to be healthy…and I really like to eat.
Highlights from Week 16:
- Baby L is a boy!
- Baby L is the size of an avocado
- I’ve started to feel some movement (or maybe it’s just gas…not really sure).
- Baby L and I are traveling to Colorado for work this week
- It’s already over half way through summer…the boys start school in a month!
